BPO major Genpact today announced the acquisition of Symphony Marketing Solutions (SMS) for an undisclosed amount, which will help the former expand its position across retail, pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods industries.
With more than 1,200 employees in India and the US, SMS provides analytics and data management services in areas like retail, pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods industries.
"SMS brings deep domain expertise in the retail, pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods verticals. This expertise will allow us to offer a broader range of services ranging from core finance and accounting, procurement and supply chain to data management and advanced analytics solutions," Genpact President and Chief Executive Officer Pramod Bhasin said in a statement.
Concurrently, with the closing of the acquisition, SMS has also executed an eight-year contract with enterprise market information solutions provider Information Resources, under which it will provide end-to-end data management and analytics services to IRI.
