Geojit Financial Services, today said that it would offer free brokerage on currency futures trading till September-end.

This offer will come into effect from August 29 when the currency futures segment at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) goes live, a press release issued here stated.

"We feel that first-time investors would be encouraged to participate in this new segment if they did not have to pay brokerage initially. Hence, we have announced this first-of-its-kind limited period offer," Geojit's Managing Director, C J George, said.

For the first time in the country now, it would be possible to trade on currency futures on an exchange platform.

Currency futures are instruments to hedge currency risk by people who get inward remittances/exporters and in the case of those making outward remittances/importers.
