Georg Kniese to head SAP Labs India

SAP Labs has announced the appointment of Georg Kniese as the managing director of its Indian operations. Kniese, who had been working with SAP Labs India as a joint managing director along with Martin Prinz, took over his new charge with effect from August 1, 2006, the company said in a release.

SAP Labs employs 2,700 professionals at its Bangalore campus and is looking at touching the 3,000 mark pretty soon. SAP also recently has announced a $1 billion expansion plan in India.

In the new capacity, he will be responsible for SAP Labs' India offices in Bangalore, Gurgaon and Chandigarh. Kniese joined SAP
