Before joining Gigaset Communications, he has worked as head of marketing at Samsung, Siemens mobile and LG.

Shahzad holds a Master of Business Administration degree, and has been based in Dubai for the past 11 years.

Outlining his plans for the future, Shahzad said, "We intend to be a market leader in cordless telephony not just in the UAE but in the entire region. We also intend to establish our presence at the retail as well as the operator level in all these markets."

"I am proud and excited to be a part of the company that is growing at 40 per cent in the Middle East market, which is not growing more than 5 per cent. We believe in innovations in technology and we will continue on that path," he added.
