GHCL net up 36 % to Rs 28 cr

GHCL reported 36 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 28 crore for the quarter ended March 2006, compared with Rs 20.6 crore in the same period last year. Net sales was up 17 per cent to Rs 175 crore from Rs 150 crore in the year-ago period.
 
The Dalmia group company's EBIDTA rose 21 per cent to Rs 52 crore for the quarter as compared with Rs 43 crore in the corresponding period last year.
 
For the year ended March 2006, the company reported 148 per cent jump in net profits to Rs 100 crore from Rs 40 crore last year. Net sales was up 37 per cent to Rs 721 crore from Rs 525 crore over the same period.
 
"We have had a successful quarter, where our revenues have been driven by volume growth both in the soda ash and textiles segment. GHCL looks forward to a healthy growth on the back of successful integration of our overseas-acquired capacities," said Chairman Sanjay Dalmia.
