GM India expects market revival by Oct

Passenger car sales in the country had declined by 18% in the first 4 months of the current calender year when compared to the same period last year

GM India expects the automobile market in the country will show signs of revival by October- November , this year, according to company's vice president (vehicle sales, service and marketing),  Rajesh Singh.

Singh told mediapersons here on Monday passenger car sales in the country had declined 18 per cent in the first four months of the current calendar year when compared with the same period last year.

Nevertheless, despite the prevailing sluggish market conditions, GM India expects to post a double digit growth in sales during the second quarter (April-June) of the current year compared with the corresponding quarter last year.
 

“We are expecting this growth on the strength of the new models we have launched,” Singh said, adding the company had launched three new models in the past six months.

The company launched its new multi-purpose vehicle, Chevrolet Enjoy, here on Monday. “As a new leader in the segment, we expect the Enjoy to be very popular,” Singh said.
