GM launches CNG variant of Chevrolet Optra

General Motors (GM) India today launched the CNG varaint of its sedan Chevrolet Optra priced at Rs 8.1 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

"The CNG initiative is a manifestation of our resolve to address the needs of consumers through the growing line-up of Chevrolet vehicles," GM India president and managing director Rajeev Chaba said.

The Optra CNG will be available in Delhi, Mumbai and Gujarat, an official release said.

A CNG kit approved by GM India will be fitted on the Optra 1.6 at the dealerships. Reinforced coil springs are provided as part of the conversion kit. All current Optra 1.6 owners can also have a CNG kit installed on their vehicles and retain their warranty coverage, the release added.
