General Motors (GM) India on Monday launched the Chevrolet Sail sedan in North East market.
Addressing a press conference, Anil Mehrotra, chief financial officer of the company said, “The Sail is built on a new global passenger car platform created especially for fast-growing emerging markets. The eagerly anticipated Sail is an important addition to GM’s sedan line-up in India. It competes in one of the largest and fastest-growing segments.”
“Engineers at the GM Technical Centre-India in Bangalore spent nearly two years refining the platform for India to ensure that it would meet the requirements of the local market and car buyers,” added Mehrotra.
The Sail is available with a choice of diesel and petrol engines and the company claimed that it provides a combination of power, fuel efficiency and low emissions. In addition, the Sail also comes with an extensive array of “active and passive” safety features.
