GM Rao new chairman in GMR shake-up

The GMR group has undergone a restructuring with Chairman and Managing Director GM Rao assuming the new role of group chairman. Four new top posts have been created to oversee several lines of business.

According to the company, Rao will focus on group-level strategy. He will look after projects such as Delhi International Airport (DIAL). He will also oversee the function of the Management Assurance Group.

B Srinivas, MD, DIAL, will now be the chairman (urban infrastructure and highways including SEZ). Group Director BVN Rao will be the chairman (energy & agriculture "� sugar business). GBS Raju, Group CFO, will be chairman (corporate "� HR, finance, strategic planning and corporate communications). He will also be responsible for the international business division such as Sabiha Gocken Airport project in Istanbul.

GMR Hyderabad International Airport (HIAL) MD Kiran Grandhi has been elevated as chairman``` (airports "� DIAL, HIAL and airport business development).
