GMI October sales up 2.8%

General Motors India (GMI) reported increase of 2.8% in October sales at 2,829 cars as against 2,752 units sold in the same month last year.

The company's sales was driven mainly by its multi utility vehicle (MUV) Chevrolet Tavera, which grew by 35%. Other than that, GMI sold 274 units of Opel Corsas, 1,901 units of Taveras and 652 units of Optras.

Consolidated sales between January and October increased 24% at 26,371 units. These included 15,444 Taveras, 6,260 Optras and 4,620 Opel Corsas.
