GMR may bid for Ahmedabad airport's privatisation

GM Rao said that slowdown is a temporary phase and next year will be a very good year for India

Infrastructure and aviation major GMR Group may bid for the upcoming privatisation of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at Ahmedabad, said its group chairman GM Rao. 

Speaking on the sidelines of a convocation ceremony at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI) here, Rao said, "We may bid for the Ahmedabad airport privatisation whenever the bid opens." Rao was the chief guest at EDI's 15th convocation ceremony for its 'Post-Graduate Diploma in Management - Business Entrepreneurship' and 'Post-Graduate Diploma in Management - Development Studies'.

When asked about the revival in economy, Rao stated that India was on its way to recovery. "Slowdown is a temporary phase. Next year will be a very good year for India," said Rao.

 

Along with Rao, MS Raghavan, president of EDI and MD of IDBI Bank Ltd. was also present at the convocation ceremony.

In all 88 students were awarded diplomas, 80 in Post-Graduate Diploma in Management - Business Entrepreneurship (9 in Agri. Entrepreneurship, 17 in Family Business Management, 40 in New Enterprise Creation and 14 students in Services Management) and 8 in Post-Graduate Diploma in Management - Development Studies.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Awasthi, director of EDI said that the institute will soon be launching a two year full time international programme on Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Business Entrepreneurship.
