Godrej Agrovet today launched a range of ready-to-eat foods under the Yummiez brand. Agrovet will be introducing value-added chicken snacks under this brand across four product ranges like cold cuts, breaded and coated snacks, marinated snacks and ready curries. The company expects the brand to touch a turnover of Rs 50 crore in the next three years, CK Vaidya, managing director of Godrej Agrovet, said. The products would initially be introduced in Mumbai and Pune before moving onto the southern cities. The company plans to cover 30 cities by the end of March 2007. Value-added chicken products were a logical extension for the company after the Real Good chicken brand, Tanya Dubash, executive director & president-marketing of Godrej Industries, said. The snacks are being manufactured by Vista Foods, a subsidiary of OSI. The market for value added non-vegetarian products in India is estimated at Rs 120 crore and is growing at 25% CAGR. The growth of modern trade outlets is believed to be a driving factor for the growth of the sector and the company said it would be doing a range of below the line activities in these outlets to promote the new brand. |
