Godrej aims turnover of Rs 2,000 cr this fiscal

Home appliances manufacturer Godrej is targetting a business turnover of Rs 2,000 crore  this fiscal.

During the 2008-09 financial year, the turnover was Rs 1,600 crore, Ramesh Chembath, general manager (marketing), Godrej Appliances, told reporters here.

Godrej, which has launched new products, including Eon i-Fresh referigerator, was looking at Rs 200-300 crore revenue this year from new products and Rs 85-90 crore revenue from Kerala, he said.

The company was eyeing a 50 per cent growth in its 'Onam' festival sales in Kerala this year. Last year, Onam sales had touched Rs 60 crore, which is expected to touch Rs 85 crore this year. Sales in the state was Rs 150 crore last full year and alone constituting 35-40 per cent during Onam. The first quarter sales this year was also good, he added.

 

The 360 litre Eon i-Fresh refregerators is priced at Rs 26,000 while 320 litres costs Rs 20,000.

Recession and early monsoon did impact sales during May-June last year, he said adding in Bangalaore and Hyderabad, the IT cities, the impact of slowdown was larger.
