Godrej Consumer is considering outsourcing manufacturing to India for some
products for Keyline Brands, a company it had acquired in UK in October last
year.

Adi Godrej, chairman, Godrej Consumer said:"The final decision would depend
upon how economical it would be for us to do so and we are studying the
details at present." He added that the company would take a decision on this
within this financial year.

Cuticura, he said is one brand that the company was not allowed to
manufacture in India as Godrej does not own the rights to the brand here
(Cholayil does). The company would be launching the Erasmic range of mens
products in India later this year, which Godrej said would be at the premium
end of the market.

Godrej said that in addition to expanding the Keyline presence to other
countries, the company was also looking at expanding the brand through
acquisitions. Apart from this, the company was also on the lookout for
acquisitions in the home and personal care categories in India and
internationally.

Hoshedar Press, executive director & president, Godrej Consumer said: the
company would not launch 'me-too' products in new categories, but only those
where they could provide a substantial value add to the customer. "We will
look at entering one new category a year," he said.
