FMCG firm Godrej Consumer Products expects to clock a turnover of about Rs 1,500 crore this fiscal as it plans to expand product portfolio in the personal care segment.
"This year, we hope to clock a turnover of over Rs 1,000 crore from the domestic market and if you add our international operations all put together will be just about Rs 1,500 crore," GCP Chief Operating Officer (Marketing and Operations) Rakesh Sinha told PTI.
While the FMCG sector is growing at about 15-16 per cent, Sinha said that Godrej would be growing much faster and is aiming 20-25 per cent growth rate.
Besides, Godrej is also expanding its personal care range as it plans to introduce more products in the category like skin creams, lotions and conditioners.
Sinha said that the company is currently developing the products. "We are technically ready. It's just a question of getting the right consumer proposition... We are waiting for the market sentiment to get better... It should improve in the next six-nine months. By this time our consumer work should also be over."
When asked about the impact of the slowdown, he said, "We haven't seen any impact on the sales, but yes, during this quarter, profits are under pressure."
