Godrej Consumer net up 29%

Domestic fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) beat expectations with a net profit of Rs 33.69 crore for quarter ending September, up by 28.8% from last quarter y-o-y at Rs 26.14 crore, as per the company's unaudited results announced at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

GCPL, owner of brands Cinthol and Godrej No 1, reported total income of Rs 211.73 crore, up 15.6% from the comparable quarter last year at Rs 183.06 crore.

The company's consolidated net profit for this quarter was Rs 37.06 crore, which increased by 19.54% from last quarter y-o-y at Rs 31 crore.
The consolidated total income of the company also increased by 17.31% from Rs 234.60 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 to Rs 275.3 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2007.
