FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products today said its consolidated profit after tax, for the third quarter ended December 31, declined nearly 7 per cent at Rs 40 crore over the corresponding period a year ago.
The firm had a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 43 crore in the third quarter last fiscal, Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Consolidated total income of the fast moving consumer goods manufacturer rose to Rs 343.63 crore in the quarter from Rs 274.22 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
On a standalone basis, the company registered a profit after tax of Rs 38.92 crore in the December quarter, a six per cent decline over the same period a year ago.
It had a profit after tax of Rs 41.47 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2007.
Further, Godrej Consumer today announced the third interim dividend of Re 1 per share for the current financial year.
On Friday, shares of Godrej Consumer Products closed at Rs 130.85, down 2.13 per cent on the BSE.
