Godrej Appliances, the Rs 1,400 crore appliances manufacturer, has launched various initiatives to increase its market share.

The company on Wednesday announces couple of new range of products while also starting an initiative 'Cool Zone' which will educate the consumers, ahead of the summer season.

According to Godrej officials they have a 15 per cent market share in Karnataka and is looking it increasing this by end of next year. The air conditioner market in Karnataka is presently growing at 98 per cent, of which window ACs make up 30 per cent and 70 per cent are cornered by splits.

Speaking about the firm's route to getting there, George Menezes, COO, Godrej Appliances said, "With the premium segment being the fastest-growing, split air conditioners are growing the fastest. The air conditioners that are five star rated are also the fastest growing as they are the most efficient."

Each star rating means an increase in energy-efficiency by 20 per cent. This has prompted Godrej to launch the Navigator range of air conditioners and also 5-star rated air conditioner in split AC category.

This year the firm has added two new lines at its plants, one in the north and another in the west. Each line costs the company Rs 70-100 crore to set up. Godrej hopes to double its revenues in two years. The next fiscal it expects to grow 30 per cent.
