LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network with more than 238 million members and over 21 million in India, today revealed that Google is the world’s most InDemand Employer brand, followed by Apple, Unilever, Procter & Gamble and Microsoft.

Amongst the Indian professionals on LinkedIn, Accenture once again topped the list of the most sought-after companies followed by Wipro, Infosys, IBM and Hewlett Packard rounding up the top five.

LinkedIn has determined these rankings by analysing the actions of its members on the platform. Last year, LinkedIn introduced the ‘Most InDemand Employer’ rankings that identified the most sought after global and regional companies on LinkedIn.

Irfan Abdulla, Director Talent Solutions, LinkedIn India said, “Talent is a company’s greatest asset. The companies who have made it to this year’s list are definitely ahead of the curve in their talent management efforts. Building and maintaining an employer brand to attract the right kind of candidates is the need of  the hour, failing which they will surely lose out in the war for quality talent. LinkedIn’s vision is to create an economic graph that would digitally manifest every economic opportunity in the world, thus connecting specific skills to the talent most suited for it.”

Globally, a few insights came out about what makes a desirable and sought after employer: Technology and Packaged Consumer Goods companies – like Google and Unilever – dominate the top 10 Shell entered the top 10. In fact, 16 Oil & Energy companies made this year’s list, compared to 10 companies last year.

Spotify, based in Stockholm, is the smallest company to make this year’s list at #99 Amazon broke into the top 10 – they tripled their LinkedIn followers over the past 12 month
