This placement season, the Delhi Technological University made history.
For the first time, a 21-year old computer engineering student, Himanshu Jindal, from the university has bagged a job offer of Rs 93 lakh per annum from Google Inc.
The offer includes $100,000 basic salary, 15% bonus (of basic salary) and 125 Google stock units (totalling Rs 93 lakh per annum).

The highest annual package last year was Rs 58 lakh.
"This is the highest international offer that a student from our university has received, ever. We are happy with his performance," said a senior official from Delhi Technological University on the condition of anonymity.
The placement season began on August 1 and so far around 40 companies have made 265 job offers. The university has a total batch size-- B.Tech and M.Tech-- of 1100 students to place.
The second highest international pay package was of Rs 73 lakh has been offered two M.Tech students by EPIC, a US- based software company. Around 9 B.tech students have been offered a package of Rs 70 lakh by Epic.
Among domestic offers, the highest pay package comes from Goldman Sachs followed by a pay package of Rs 19 lakhs to eight students by Amazon.
A senior placement official said despite the slowdown, leading companies made their presence felt on campus. "Though the number of offers per company has come down this year, we have had some very big names on campus," the official said.
Post the pre- placement talk with Google this August, Jindal sat for the written tests and was shortlisted along with seven other students followed by personal interview. Jindal will complete his B. Tech degree in May 2014 and join Google in the US in October 2014.
DTU official however said with a slowdown in the manufacturing sector, students will have to look at alternatives to manufacturing industry.
DTU has so far not invited mass recruiters like the IT companies which pickup students in good numbers. The university will take a call on inviting these companies shortly.
