The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PSEB) on Wednesday recommended the name of Central Coalfields (CCL) chairman-cum-managing director Gopal Singh for the post of CMD of NMDC Limited.
In a statement putout on its website, PSEB said it had interviewed 13 persons for the selection process earlier in the day.
Those interviewed include four directors of NMDC, two directors of SAIL and one director each from RINL, CIL and HCL apart from CMD of HSCL Moyukh Bhaduri, CCL CMD Gopal Singh, PGCIL executive director V Sekar and KIOCL CMD Malay Chatterjee.

Earlier, the board had short-listed 15 people, some of whom had dropped out of the race and some new names were included, according to the sources.
Singh has been the CMD of Central Coalfields Limited since March 2012. Born in 1961, he graduated from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, in 1981 and started his professional career as mining engineer at Rajrappa area, CCL, according to the company website.
