Graphic India, which creates comic characters for offline and online worlds, raised $2.8 million (Rs 17.5 crore) in seed funding from existing investor CA Media, the Asian investment arm of The Chernin Group, LLC, and New York-based media investment group Start Media. The round also saw participation from angel investors such as Julian Farrior and Dale Thoms, founders of Backflip Studios.
CollateBox raises Rs 1.2 crore
CollateBox, which helps enterprises collaborate with their teams on multiple projects in the mobile world securely, raised about Rs 1.2 crore ($180,000) from a group of angel investors through crowd-funding platform LetsVenture. Teninnovate, a Hyderabad-based technology incubator, has also invested in the company.

Education technology start-up Harness Handitouch raised an undisclosed amount in its Series-A round of funding from Luxembourg-based private equity firm Armat Group, the company stated. The funds will be used for expansion in Europe, product development, as well as for marketing.
IAN's small ticket deals
Indian Angel Network (IAN) has launched a 'Small Ticket Funding' programme to help start-ups meet their immediate funding requirements. As part of the programme, IAN will offer a fixed investment of Rs 25 lakh at a fixed valuation of Rs 2.5 crore after investment. The initiative will enable young entrepreneurs and early-stage ventures raise quick funding, and they will get to interact with entrepreneurs who are a part of IAN.
Golflan ropes in YourNest
Golflan Technologies, which runs a subscription-based service for golfers to book tee times without club membership, raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from early-stage investor YourNest Angel Fund, VCCircle said. The money will be spent on technology and marketing, besides geographical expansion.
