Graphite India today reported 22 per cent increase in net profit for the October-December quarter at Rs 42.16 crore on higher income.
The Kolkata-based firm, which makes graphite electrodes among others products, had clocked Rs 34.51 crore net profit in the same quarter of 2012-13 financial year, it said in a BSE filing.
The total income of the company in third quarter, 2013-14 grew to Rs 434.45 crore, from Rs 429.10 crore the year-ago period.

Expenses, on the other hand, remained almost static at Rs 379 crore mainly because of lower consumption of raw material and less expenditure on power and fuel.
A Rs 10.29 crore "other income", against Rs 3.27 crore in the same period last year, also helped the bottomline in the reporting quarter to grow.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 69.65 apiece, down 0.64 per cent, during the afternoon trade on the BSE.
