Aditya Birla Group company Grasim Industries today reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 881.84 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009.
The company had a net profit of Rs 562.94 crore in the same period last fiscal.
The figures are not comparable owing to sale of sponge iron business and consolidation of Idea Cellular as a joint venture company, Grasim Industries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total operating income stood at Rs 4,743.32 crore for the quarter under review, while it had a total operating income of Rs 4,486.49 crore in the corresponding fiscal last fiscal.
On the standalone, basis the company has posted a net profit of Rs 674.25 crore in the latest quarter, however it had a net profit of Rs 419.50 crore in the year-ago period.
Shares of Grasim Industries today closed at Rs 2,133.15 on the BSE, down 0.89 per cent from its previous close.
