Gridco owes Rs 93 cr power to CPPs

State owned Gridco Ltd, the bulk power purchaser owes Rs 93.35 crore (as on September 30, 2012) to 27 captive power plants (CPP) by way of power procurement dues.

In a written reply to the state assembly, minister (energy) Arun Kumar Sahoo informed that Gridco owes Rs 61.52 crore to Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL), the highest among all CPPs.

There are also outstanding dues payable to Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (Rs 12.91 crore), Tata Sponge (Rs 2.89 crore), Visa Steel (Rs 1.82 crore), Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd- NINL (Rs 1.71 crore), Aryan Ispat (Rs 1.50 crore), Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (Rs 3.45 crore), Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd-IMFA (Rs 2.69 crore), Vedanta Aluminium Ltd- Jharsuguda (Rs 62.17 lakh) and Vedanta Aluminium Ltd-Lanjigarh (Rs 1.98 lakh).

 

The minister informed that currently there are no dues payable to independent power producer - Sterlite Energy Ltd towards power procurement.

In a separate reply, he said Gridco owes Rs 5.02 crore for power purchased from eight solar power producers with combined capacity of 8 MW.
