GSK Pharma FY04 net at Rs 333cr

GlaxoSmithKline Pharma has reported a net profit of Rs 333.09 crore for the year ended December 31, 2004 as against Rs 172.23 crore in FY03.

According to a release issued to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 1,426.78 crore for the year ended December 31, 2004 as against Rs 1,155.95 crore in FY03.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 23.63 crore for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2004 as against Rs 14.64 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2003. Total income was Rs 294.23 crore as against Rs 242.13 crore in Q4FY03.

The board has recommended a dividend of Rs 13 per share, and a special, additional, one-time dividend of Rs 11 per share.

"In view of the merger of Burroughs Wellcome (India) (BWIL) with the company with effect from January 1, 2004, the financial results include the results of BWIL and are, therefore, not comparable with the results of the corresponding period last year," the release added.
