GSM subscriber base up by 4.41 million in September

GSM operators have added 4.41 million new subscribers in September, taking the total GSM subscriber base to 678.82 million

GSM operators have added 4.41 million new subscribers in September, taking the total GSM subscriber base to 678.82 million, according to data published by Cellular operators Association of India (COAI). GSM user base increased marginally by 0.65 per cent as compared to August, it added.

Idea Cellular added 1.2 million new customers in September, followed by Vodafone (about 1.2 million) and Bharti Airtel (1.16 million). Aircel and Uninor added 0.64 million and 0.1 million subscribers during the month, respectively.
