Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) will sign an MoU with the state government at the next week's investors' summit for setting up a 200 Mw wind power plant, GSPC officials said today.
The two-day Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit (VGGIS) 2009 begins here from January 12. "We had invited bids for setting up a 200 Mw wind plant in the state to which 12 companies have responded. The project winner will be disclosed on January 12," a senior GSPC official told PTI.
This is a Rs 1,200-crore project for which MoU with the government will be inked at the summit. Contract will be awarded to the selected bidder after completing the necessary formalities like technical and financial scrutiny of the bids, he said.
Those who have bid for the project, include wind energy major Suzlon, Vestas, Theolia, Globalwind, Abellon and Enarcon.
As per the bid condition, the company that wins the project will have to commission the plant within six months from the date of being awarded the contract. The company will commission, develop and operate the plant for 10 years. Selection of location, acquisition of land and arranging financial resources will also be done by the private company, said the GSPC official.
