Gucci, one of the world's leading luxury brands, today made a direct entry into the Indian market by setting up a store in Mumbai. The 3,400 square feet store in Nariman Point, the city's business hub, will be followed by two more in New Delhi next year.

So far, Gucci products were available in the country through the company's partner, the Murjani group.

''Our full range will be available in the Mumbai store. In New Delhi, the store in Imperial Mall will have our full collection and others will have only accessories,'' said Mark Lee, CEO, Gucci.

He also added that the international range will be brought to India, ''The only difference in our store here is that the store attendants have got a turban. Otherwise everything remains the same.''
