The Airlines Industry Employees Guild has offered to take up the case of Kingfisher workers with the statutory labour authorities to negotiate an agreement on payment of salaries with the management.

Kingfisher workers who have been denied salaries for the last six months have not organised themselves into a union and are not members of any unions. This has made it impossible for them to  approach the statutory authorities in this case the labor commissioner for a solution to their problems with the management. The Labour Ministry also expressed its helplessness in doing anything without the workers having any representative to talk on their behalf.

AIEG official said: We are ready to raise the dispute on behalf of the Kingfisher workers as we have done in the case of Jet, Air France, Air Singapore. This would enable the statutory authorities to call both parties for talks, that is the workers and management. And an agreement can be reached then, said an official.

Kingfisher workers said that no decision has been taken on this yet.
