Guj Ambuja Aug deliveries up 12%

Gujarat Ambuja Cement today reported a 12% increase in despatches for August 2005 at 9.81 lakh tonne as against 8.73 lakh tonne in the same period last year.

"Production during August increased 11% to 9.83 lakh tonne from 8.84 lakh tonne in August 2004," an official release said today.

Ambuja Cement Eastern recorded a 16% decline in deliveries for August at 1.14 lakh tonnes as against 1.35 lakh tonnes in August 2004. Production dropped 14% to 1.19 lakh tonne from 1.39 lakh tonne in the same month of the previous fiscal, the release added.
