Gujarat Ambuja net up 16%
 
Gujarat Ambuja Exports Limited has registered net profit of Rs 8.56 crore during the first quarter of current fiscal compared to Rs 7.39 crore during the corresponding period of the previus fiscal, representing growth of 16 per cent.
 
The company has posted net sales of Rs 284.74 during the quarter under the review over Rs 262.53 crore during the first quarter of previous fiscal.
 
Gulf Oil net up 12%
 
Gulf Oil Corporation has posted a 12 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 7.10 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 compared with Rs 6.34 crore during the corresponding quarter in the previous year.
 
The turnover for the quarter was up by 8 per cent at Rs 105.76 crore for the first quarter against Rs 97.47 crore in the first quarter of the previous year.
 
Operating profit for the quarter increased by 15 per cent at Rs 8.05 crore compared with Rs 6.98 crore during the same period in the previous year. The earnings per share for the quarter was Rs 5.12 against Rs 4.57 during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
 
Krebs Bio net down 80%
 
Krebs Biochemicals and Industries reported a 79.45 per cent decrease in net profit at Rs 1.02 crore for the first quarter in the current fiscal compared with Rs 4.96 crore for the corresponding period in 2004-05.
 
Total income was down by 65.73 per cent to Rs 9.70 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 from Rs 28.32 crore for the corresponding quarter in the pervious year.
 
The company's net sales decreased from Rs 28.31 crore to Rs 9.70 crore and the earning per share declined from Rs 8.26 to Rs 1.70, the company said in a press release.
