Gujarat Ambuja Q1 net at Rs 591cr, up 43%

Gujarat Ambuja Cement today reported a 43% increase in net profit at Rs 590.74 crore for the first quarter ended March 31, 2007 when compared with Rs 412.77 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 1,700.25 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 from Rs 1,131.07 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006.
