Gujarat tourism beckons kite flyers from North India

To promote the upcoming 20th International Kite Festival in Gujarat, the state’s tourism department is organising road shows across the country. The 5-day festival, expected to start on January 10, is expected to attract kite flyers from 32 countries, besides kite enthusiasts from different states of the country. Gujarat, which attracted 17.8 million tourists last year, expects the number to swell to 21 million. Gujarat government tourism secretary Vipul Mitra said the tourism department was organising road shows in different cities and for the first time it had come to invite kite enthusiasts from Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
