Hyderabad-based contract research organisation GVK Biosciences (GVK Bio) has established an isotope labeling facility, which it claims to be the largest in the country. The company has received approvals from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) to carry out synthesis activities from the facility.

The GLP (good laboratory practices)-compliant facility has equipment to cater to the requirements of companies engaged in the fields of drug discovery and development, agro and veterinary chemicals, cosmetics, perfumery and specialty studies.

“Several of our customers requested us to extend our chemistry services to include isotope labeling services. We listened to our customers and set up this facility,” GVK Bio chief executive officer Manni Kantipudi said in a release on Monday.
