Not one plus one. It is ‘One for you, One for me’. This is the selling motto of an e-commerce website www.theindianbrand.com to be launched by the scion of GVK family GV Keshav Reddy and his friend Ishaan Dodhiwala, whose family is into textile business.
As the name suggests, everything about the site, to be launched on Saturday, is Indian. Its logo is the national bird peacock, the material will be sourced from Tirupur and the target consumers are Indian youth. Initially, it will cater to only men while women's apparel will be added later.
“We wanted to build a social enterprise to promote the pride of being Indian amongst young Indians and coherently make a difference through their giving initiative,” the duo said.

To begin with, they would sell only polo shirts and that too at a fixed price of Rs 999 a piece, including freight charges. “If a consumer buys one shirt, another shirt, not the same but a different one, may be a round-necked T shirt, will be given to an underprivileged Indian. Thus, the purchaser will have a feel good factor of giving back something to society. It's that simple,” they said.
The young entrepreneurs, who have been working on this idea for the past one-and-a-half years, have also identified some orphanages and pockets of underprivileged persons in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata for distribution of shirts.
For delivery of the products, their company, KI Fashions Private Limited, has tied up with Gati Limited. The delivery time for the buyers residing in any metro in the country will be just one day, Reddy said.
