Haier eyes Rs 600cr turnover

Haier Appliances (India) Private Limited aims at garnering a Rs 500-600 crore turnover during this calendar year. The company closed the year 2005 with a turnover of Rs 225 crore.
 
Speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating Haier Appliances' exclusive showroom in Visakhapatnam, P Naveen Reddy, deputy general manager (south), Haier Appliances, said, "During 2005, the first full year of operations, we achieved a turnover of Rs 225 crore. The company sold 7 lakh TV sets and achieved a market share of about 2.68 per cent. We target to achieve a 5 per cent market share in the TV segment during the current year."
 
The company plans to introduce 17 new models in the colour TV segment. Apart from this, it is expanding its marketing network by opening 70 new showrooms.
 
"Currently, we have 30 exclusive showrooms across the country including three in Andhra Pradesh. By the end of this calendar year, our showroom network will be increased to 100," Reddy said.
 
The company was focusing on the rural market, and hence planned to open showrooms in small towns, he added.
