Speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating Haier Appliances' exclusive showroom in Visakhapatnam, P Naveen Reddy, deputy general manager (south), Haier Appliances, said, "During 2005, the first full year of operations, we achieved a turnover of Rs 225 crore. The company sold 7 lakh TV sets and achieved a market share of about 2.68 per cent. We target to achieve a 5 per cent market share in the TV segment during the current year." |
The company plans to introduce 17 new models in the colour TV segment. Apart from this, it is expanding its marketing network by opening 70 new showrooms. |
"Currently, we have 30 exclusive showrooms across the country including three in Andhra Pradesh. By the end of this calendar year, our showroom network will be increased to 100," Reddy said. |
The company was focusing on the rural market, and hence planned to open showrooms in small towns, he added. |
