Hathway, Site Police to curb Internet pornography

Hathway Cable Internet has tied up with Site Police, a net filtering service, to curb pornography over the Internet.
 
Hathway will offer the service free of charge to its annual subscribers. The software can be installed in personal computers to block any unwanted content as per the subscriber's wish.
 
As per a recent survey by Sitepolice.com, names of 26 popular animation characters such as Pokemon and Action Man had links to porn sites.
 
One out of four kids in the last year is reported to have exposed to sexually explicit pictures on the web and one out of five is reported to have received a sexual solicitation via chat or email.
 
Nearly a third i.e. 31 per cent of kids in 10-17 age bracket from households with computers are reported to have visited a pornographic web site.
