Havells India aims Rs 500 cr exports from Baddi unit

Electrical equipment maker Havells India targets Rs 500 crore from switchgear exports in the next three years from the manufacturing unit here in Himachal Pradesh.     

"Our target from switchgear exports in the next three years is Rs 500 crore. They would be manufactured here at our Baddi plant," Havells India President Sunil Sikka told reporters here.     

Havells India's investment in the switchgear segment so far has been Rs 150 crore.     

The company is planning to expand this unit and the new plant adjoining the existing plant would be ready by August, this year.     

Havells plans to increase the production of industrial switchgear by 50 per cent and electrical wiring accessories by 200 per cent, a company statement said.     

 

It has export tie-ups with international companies such as GE, Eatons, Siemens-Electrium, Geyer, Proteus, etc.     

The company is planning to strengthen its production capacity by making Baddi a switchgear manufacturing hub.
