Electrical goods maker Havells India is eyeing revenues of over Rs 1,000 crore this fiscal from the eastern region.
"Havells has been operating and marketing its products in the (eastern) region for over four decades and we have been always bullish about this market," Havells India Associate Director Y K Gupta said here today.
Stating that eastern region accounts for 20 per cent of Havells' total revenue in the country, he said: "We will continue to expand our base and simultaneously strive to grow the market by tapping new opportunities."
For the fiscal year ended March 2012, the company had reported standalone income of Rs 3,622 crore.
The company, known as a major power distribution equipment manufacturer with a global footprint, would like to enter the Indian rural market as the same offers huge growth potential.
In order to reach out to rural India and service its customers, the company will enhance its distribution network and mark its presence in over 1,200 towns with less than one lakh population, over the next few years, he added.
