The Bombay High Court today adjourned for December 5 the hearing on a petition filed by Reliance Industries seeking the court's approval for its proposed demerger scheme.

The petition was adjourned by Justice Nishita Mhatre after a shareholder sought time to put forth his argument opposing the scheme, which was worked out following a settlement between Mukesh and Anil Ambani.

Under the scheme, Reliance proposes to demerge its power, energy and telecom businesses.
