HC allows Bombay Dyeing to give land to govt at single location

The company was required to hand over lands from two different areas

The Bombay High Court today passed an order upholding the petition filed by Wadia Group company Bombay Dyeing, permitting it to handover 66, 651 square metres to Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) and Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority (MHADA) at a single location at its Spring Mills plot where it is building Island City Centre at Wadala in Mumbai.

As a part of its development plans, company was required to handover 52,331.55 square metres.at Wadala and 12,823.39 at Lower Parel to the two agencies. But Bombay Dyeing petitioned that it be allowed to submit the land at one location in Wadala instead of separately at its mill lands in Lower Parel and Wadala under the Integrated Development Scheme for Textile Mills as provided under Section 58 of DCR.
