With the growing use of digital technology, India's potential for digital lifestyle "gizmos" is pegged at around Rs 2,500 crore and it is expected to touch Rs 10,000 crore by 2010. |
Taking a step ahead to become a one-stop destination for all those "gizmo-freaks" out there, HCL Infosystems Ltd, a $2.6 billion company, has decided to enter the business of organised retailing of digital lifestyle products, by opening up at least 100 "HCL Digilife" stores in the country by the end of 2007, of which 30-35 stores will be opened up in North India. |
Talking to Business Standard, Rajendra Kumar, executive vice-president, HCL Infosystems Ltd, said the market for digital lifestyle goods was growing at a tremendous rate in the country, which was also the world's "youngest" country and hence, was tech-savvy, demanding more and more digital gizmos to add to their belts. |
