HCL Infosys Q1 net up 968%

HCL Infosystems has reported a 968 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 32.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30 (first quarter) from Rs 3 crore in the same period last year. The company's revenue rose to Rs 856.1 crore (Rs 435.8 crore).

 
"We have seen a surge in volumes for the computer systems business. The improvement in the economy and general feel good factor has aided this pick up in business," said Ajai Chowdhry, chairman and chief executive, HCL Infosystems.

 
"Looking at the pick up in the market and the economic trend, we expect to grow at par or over the industry growth rates," he said. The board also approved quarterly payment of dividends to shareholders.
