IT firm HCL Infosystems today reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 58.97 crore for the second quarter ended September 2009, a 10.77 per cent drop over the same period a year ago.
The income from operations declined to Rs 3,027.46 crore during the July-September quarter of the current fiscal, from Rs 3,098.45 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, HCL Infosystems said in a statement.
The company said there was a decline in net profit due to a slowdown in demand.
Further, the board has declared an interim dividend of 75 per cent at the rate of Rs 1.5 a piece, on shares of face value of Rs 2.
Shares of HCL Infosystems closed at Rs 157.70, down 0.79 per cent over the previous close on the BSE.
