HDFC ERGO General Insurance has launched 'Health Suraksha Top-Up' plan. The plan is available for a sum insured option of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 7.5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh.
A top up plan supplements the existing health policy and comes into action once the sum insured of the existing policy is exhausted. Using a top up customers can have a higher sum insured at a lower cost.
There are two variants of the Health Suraksha Top Up plan. These are “Health Suraksha Top Up PRO” and “Health Suraksha Top Up PLUS.” Under the PRO plan, the exhaustion of the deductible amount happens in one single claim, whereas in the PLUS variant, the exhaustion of the deductible can happen over the policy period and the amount can be claimed in multiple claims.
Mukesh Kumar – Member of Executive Management, Head - Strategic Planning, HR and Marketing, HDFC ERGO General Insurance said that the policy is designed for salaried employees and individuals or families with an existing health policy
"Even people who have some health insurance cover may find it inadequate as they grow older or move into different life-stages,'' he said.
The plan covers pre and post-hospitalization expenses, in-patient hospitalization treatment, medical expenses for day care procedures, emergency ambulance expenses and domiciliary treatment said the press release issued by the company.
