Kolkata-based Rs 14 crore Health & Glow is foraying into the FMCG business in an attempt to consolidate its business in the wellness segment.

The company plans to launch hairoils, hair gels, fairness creams, and lotions in another two months.

Initially these would be test marketed in eastern India and stocked across its 11 Health & Glow clinics before rolling them out nationally in retail outlets.

"For the last one year we have been present in the wellness services space offering our 10,000 customers base treatments for healthier hair and skin as well as treatment for arthritis and obesity. Having gained on the expertise in hair and skin treatment, we plan to roll out herbal products for hair and skincare," said Maloy Bhattacharya, CEO, Health & Glow.

For its FMCG products, the company plans to build on the goodness of herbal products that come with zero side-effects.

The company acquired a factory in Gangtok in June this year for Rs 4.5 crore where it plans to manufacture its products. The factory is capable of bottling 60 bottles per minute.

The company is also changing its logo in order to establish a consolidated identity in wellness, healthcare and FMCG space. It would shed its old 'Health & Glow' logo and move to 'h&g' by this August.

The company has also earmarked close to Rs 30 crore for acquisitions of hospitals in and around Kolkata. It recently acquired 'Jeevan Suraksha', a 100-bed hospital in north Kolkata for Rs 6.5 crore.

"We would upgrade the facilities at Jeevan Suraksha and put in modern operation theatres, intensive care units, among others. We also plan to put in webcams at all hospital beds so that relatives can see patients from home whenever they would want to," Bhattacharya said.

The company also plans to open four Health & Glow clinics in Delhi. It is expecting a turnover of Rs 30 crore end of this financial year.
