Hero Cycles - part of the Rs 14,000-crore Hero Group - is in talks with supermarket chains Wal-Mart, Promiles and Universal for selling its bicycles from their retail stores. "The company is definitely holding talks with the US-based Wal-Mart, France-based Promiles and UK-based Universal for selling the bicycles through their retail chains," a senior official who looks after international marketing at Hero Cycles, said. Hero Cycles is the country's largest bicycle manufacturer and exports bicycles and components to Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the US countries. Hero Cycles' turnover is about Rs 1,250 crore while its exports stand at Rs 125 crore. |
