Hero Honda today launched Glamour - its latest deluxe segment bike - fitted with a newly developed engine by Japanese partner Honda. "Glamour is expected to sell 35,000-40,000 units in a short period of time," Brijmohan Lal Munjal, chairman of Hero Honda and Atul Sobti, executive director (business operations) of Hero Honda, said in the city today. Munjal said the company was launching the new model in south India, ahead of other markets, as the region contributed to 25% of Hero Honda's business. Glamour, which is the 9th model from Hero Honda, comes with a new 125cc quantum core engine and flush-type lock on the fuel tank - a first-of-its-kind in the segment. Sobti said the futuristic quantum core engine was first introduced by Hero Honda in its 125cc offering Super Splendor launched earlier this year. "Glamour sports a gen-next visor, which lends it a suitable persona and an aerodynamic look, which is further strengthened by the contemporary shape of multi-reflector winkers," P S Sunder, head (marketing) of Hero Honda, said. Priced at Rs 45,000, Glamour comes with a three-year warranty. |
