The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda today reported a 16.60 per cent jump in its sales in June at 4,26,454 units over 3,65,734 units it sold in the corresponding month last year.
This is the 18th consecutive time that the company has recorded sale of over 3 lakh units in a single month.
For the April-June quarter, the company's sales rose 10.28 per cent to 12,34,039 units from 11,18,987 units in the year-ago period, a statement from Hero Honda said.
"We are quite happy with our solid performance in the first quarter of 2010-11 which has set a positive tone for the rest of the financial year," Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said.
He said growth in June was attained on the back of the high base effect of the company's sales last year. "Growth is coming across all segments including our scooter Pleasure which is now contributing over 25,000 units every month to the overall volume," Dua added.
